I’m not really sure how to explain this masterpiece, but I am going to try…

Not often in modern-day cinema do you get the opportunity to see something like you’ve never seen it before. Most movies borrow and steal from the movies before it, whether it be in style, story, or substance. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is an exception to that. Based on the graphic novels and video games of the same name, this movie is not what you will expect, and one of the best things put on film over the past few years.

I’ll keep the description short, as I don’t want to give away the storyline, but the movie basically wraps around this idea ( From ):

When you’re a teenager, even the smallest things can seem like life and death. Music, social status and relationships are of earth-shattering importance, and if you didn’t know any better, you would swear that the whole world revolved around you. Scott Pilgrim is a twenty-something slacker still living the life of a teenager, but in his universe, relationships really are life-threatening. You see, the girl that he has a crush on also has seven evil exes who are determined to hunt him down and challenge him in, shall we say, real-life mortal kombat.

If you like Michael Cera, you MUST see this movie. It’s the best work from him to date. For the rest of you, it comes very highly recommended. The visual experience is incredible, the quick-wit humor is undeniable, and the soundtrack is perfect. Check it out and let us know what you thought of it in the LEAVE A REPLY section below…
